This Privacy Policy explains what information Analytics TV collects, why we collect it, and how you can control it. It covers this website, analyticstv.com, and the Analytics TV web application.

Who we are
Analytics TV is operated by Food Drink Life Inc. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].
We are Mandy and Jenn. We run Food Drink Life and are both multi-website owners. We built Analytics TV after becoming frustrated by how much time it took to dig through different analytics platforms and piece together the information we needed. We wanted one place where the important numbers and insights were easy to find, understand, and act on. We built Analytics TV for our own websites first, found it genuinely useful, and decided to make it available to other website owners.
Information we collect
Account information. Analytics TV accounts are provisioned for you rather than created through public self-service sign-up. We collect the information needed to set up and run your account: your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes (see Data security below); account setup and password-reset tokens are stored as hashes as well.
Google data you connect. To show your Google Analytics 4 and Search Console data, you connect Google by signing in with Google and granting read-only access, limited to analytics.readonly and webmasters.readonly, plus your basic Google account identity and email (openid, userinfo.email) used to identify your account. No scope lets Analytics TV change anything in your Google Analytics or Search Console. The authorization we store to keep that connection working is encrypted. Some Google-derived data (traffic-overview snapshots, Discover history) is stored by Analytics TV so it can be shown without re-fetching every time.
We use Google user data to display your analytics and search information back to you and, if you use AI Ask, to answer your questions as described below. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Analytics TV itself does not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. If you use AI Ask, the data needed to answer your question is sent to Anthropic, as described in “Questions you ask Analytics TV” below.
Site behavior data. Analytics TV does not install a Microsoft Clarity tracking script on your site. To show reader-behavior information (scroll depth, rage clicks, drop-off points, and similar signals), Analytics TV reads aggregated data from a Clarity project that you already own and run yourself, using credentials configured for that Clarity project. We cache those aggregates in our database and refresh them on a rolling basis. We do not receive or store Clarity session recordings, recording URLs, or individual visitor identifiers.
Newsletter data. If a Kit (ConvertKit) account is connected for one of your sites, Analytics TV reads that account’s statistics using a Kit API key configured for that site. It reads account-level figures (your subscriber count and plan limit, your 30-day growth, and your account-wide open, click, unsubscribe and bounce rates); statistics for newsletters you have already sent (subject line, send time, recipients, opens and clicks); your opt-in forms and how many subscribers each has captured; your automated sequences and their overall performance; and, where your Kit account uses Kit Commerce, your product sales (order totals and product names).
Analytics TV does not read your subscriber list. It never requests or receives individual subscriber names, email addresses, subscriber IDs, tags or segments, and it does not receive the identity of anyone who buys one of your products. It receives only totals and product names. This information is fetched from Kit when your dashboard needs it and held in temporary memory for up to six hours so it does not have to be re-fetched on every page view. It is not written to our database. The exception is AI Ask: if you ask a question about your newsletter, the answer may quote these figures, and answers are stored (see “Questions you ask Analytics TV” below).
Revenue estimates. Analytics TV does not connect to or receive any data from Mediavine or any other ad network. Revenue estimates shown in the dashboard are calculated using figures you provide yourself: site earnings are estimated from your session counts multiplied by an RPM (revenue per thousand sessions) you supply, and the estimated earnings shown against an individual newsletter are calculated from that newsletter’s clicks using the same RPM. Both are estimates, not measured income. Analytics TV has no visibility into your actual ad network earnings.
Questions you ask Analytics TV. If you use the AI Ask feature, your question and the account and site data needed to answer it (which can include data read from Google, from Microsoft Clarity, and from a connected Kit newsletter account) are sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI model that generates the answer, under its commercial API terms. Where a question follows on from earlier ones, a bounded amount of your recent conversation is included so the answer makes sense in context. Your questions and Analytics TV’s answers are stored in our database, and a stored answer may contain figures drawn from any of those sources. There is currently no set retention period for AI Ask history, and the “delete conversation” option only hides a conversation from view. It does not yet erase the underlying stored message content. We are working on a real retention period and a way to actually erase AI Ask content, and will update this section once those exist. Analytics TV itself does not use your questions or the answers to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and it does not build embeddings or cross-conversation profiles from them. Anthropic’s own handling of the data it receives is governed by its commercial API terms.
Website usage data. The analyticstv.com marketing website does not install Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics or tracking tool, and it does not load Google Fonts or other third-party font services. It does not use a cookie-consent banner because it does not set tracking or advertising cookies for visitors. When we last tested the public website (with clean, unauthenticated requests, both served from cache and served fresh from the origin), the tested pages set no cookies at all. This reflects our checks at the time of testing; we will re-verify it once all pages of the site, including the contact form, are published. The only cookies we have identified are functional cookies created during a logged-in WordPress admin session, which visitors never encounter.
Contact and support form. If you use the contact form on our website, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, subject, and message. We use this only to receive and respond to your enquiry. In our current configuration, WPForms (the form plugin our site runs) does not store a separate copy of your submission in our WordPress database, and its optional cloud-backup feature (“Lite Connect”) and usage-tracking option are both switched off. Your submission is delivered by email to our support mailbox, where it is retained as part of that email correspondence. We do not currently apply a set retention period to support correspondence sent to [email protected]; we keep it only for as long as it is useful for handling your request and maintaining our records.
Sign-in and security records. When you sign in and use Analytics TV, we record account and security information: your account identity, your role, your IP address, and browser/user-agent information. We use these records to operate your account and keep it secure, not for advertising.
How we measure visits to sites you connect. Analytics TV includes its own first-party visitor measurement. It does not use cookies. To count visits without cookies, it creates a pseudonymous visitor identifier that rotates each day, worked out from the date, the site, and the visitor’s IP address and browser information. The IP address may also be used to work out the visitor’s country. The raw IP address and the browser/user-agent details are not kept in the stored visit record. This identifier is pseudonymous, not anonymous.
How we use your information
- To operate and maintain your Analytics TV account and dashboard
- To generate the traffic, search, behavior, newsletter, revenue-estimate, and AI Ask features you use
- To respond to support requests sent to [email protected]
- To maintain the security and reliability of the service
Who we share information with
We share information only where it’s necessary to run Analytics TV:
- With Google, to retrieve the Analytics and Search Console data you’ve authorized (see “Google user data,” below)
- With Microsoft, to read aggregated behavior data from the Clarity project you connect (see “Site behavior data,” above)
- With Anthropic, to generate AI Ask answers (see “Questions you ask Analytics TV,” above)
- With Render, which hosts the Analytics TV application and our primary account database
- With Neon, which hosts a separate database used for site-tracking data
- With Postmark, or another email-delivery provider we configure, to send account and authentication emails from the Analytics TV application once those emails are turned on (they are not currently turned on)
- With Kit (ConvertKit), where a Kit API key is configured for a site, to read that account’s newsletter, audience, form, automation and, where you use Kit Commerce, product sales statistics
- With the WordPress sites you connect, to read their published content as a data source for Analytics TV’s features
We do not sell your personal information or your Google user data, we do not share it with any advertising network, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
Google user data
Analytics TV’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In practice, that means:
- We only use Google user data to provide the Analytics TV features you see in your dashboard
- We do not use Google user data for advertising
- We do not use Google user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data except with your affirmative agreement for specific messages, where necessary for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized
- We do not transfer Google user data to any third party except as described in this policy, for legal reasons, or as part of a merger or acquisition. Any such transfer remains subject to the restrictions above
You can disconnect Google at any time; disconnecting removes and revokes Analytics TV’s access, and you can also review or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting does not delete analytics history already stored, and does not currently clear cached data or a saved overview snapshot. Because Analytics TV also uses its own first-party tracking, current-day (Today) traffic may still appear after you disconnect.
Data retention
Analytics TV stores persistent copies of your account information, Google-derived data (such as traffic-overview snapshots and Discover history), and AI Ask history, rather than re-fetching everything from the source every time you view your dashboard. Cached Clarity aggregates are refreshed and replaced on a rolling basis. Newsletter statistics read from Kit are not stored: they are held in temporary memory for up to six hours and are re-read from Kit after that, although an AI Ask answer that quotes them is stored with the rest of your AI Ask history. Analytics TV does not currently have an implemented general retention period for the data it does store, and deleting your account or disconnecting a service does not yet trigger an automatic deletion process. We are actively working on retention and deletion capabilities and will update this section with concrete timeframes once they exist. Until then, data you’ve shared with Analytics TV should be treated as retained indefinitely.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Connections to Analytics TV are encrypted in transit using HTTPS, and the site is served over HTTPS only. Account passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes, never in plain text, and cannot be retrieved by us. Data held in our hosting providers’ managed databases is encrypted at rest. Your Google authorization is stored encrypted on our servers and is never sent to your browser. Google-derived data for a site is shown only to signed-in users of the workspace that owns, or has been granted access to, that site. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
- Access or correct the personal information in your account by emailing [email protected]
- Request deletion of your data by emailing [email protected]. A fully automated deletion process is still being built, and we do not yet have a documented turnaround time or a way to guarantee complete erasure of every data type, including AI Ask history
- Disconnect Google in Analytics TV, or review and revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or email [email protected]
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it
Children’s privacy
Analytics TV is a business tool for website owners and publishers. It is intended for users aged 18 or over, and you may not create or use an Analytics TV account if you are under 18. If you believe an Analytics TV account has been created by someone under 18, email [email protected].
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Analytics TV changes. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
